New Buffalo is Feeling Brave

Today, New Buffalo Elementary School students put on their annual Talent Show. Chamallow even made a guest appearance as the sidekick to one of the two entertaining hosts (pictures will be posted soon)! The show featured gymnasts, singers, musicians, and tech-tool talented kids. The common link between all the acts was music, in honor of Music in our Schools Month. Instead of performing this year, 5th grade got a little tech-y and created our own version of Sara Bareilles' Brave - a song we just can't seem to get enough of. We had a lot of fun making it, and we hope you laugh and dance as much as we did! How big is YOUR brave?

Tezca llegó a Montpellier

Tezca llegó durante nuestras vacaciones y lo primero que hizo fue ir al mercado a conocer las especialidades francesas: los quesos. También decidió probar algunas de las especialidades más dulces: "bugnes"(que se comen en época de Carnaval) y "macarons". Creemos que añora un poco su país porque quiso comer en un restaurante de comida mexicana pero lamentablemente estaba cerrado. Lo intentaremos otro día.
Después se informó sobre lo que podía hacer en Montpellier y fue a conocer el centro histórico.

Chamallow and Tagada in New Buffalo

Vive la France!

Chamallow and Tagada are enjoying all kinds of Michigan winter activities! They have played hockey, built snowmen and snow forts, and gone ice skating. Ms. Wilson took them both to Bentwood Tavern, a local restaurant, to enjoy some sushi. They've helped out with homework and some new educational technology projects our class has begun. DoriLocos with Mr. Apple

In Mr. Apple's Welcome Party we prepared and shared a very popular snack in Mexico, DoriLocos (DoriCrazy). They're tasty and easy to prepare.

You just need a bag of your favorite Doritos and some of the following ingredients, or all of them if you want to:

• Chopped cucumber.
• Grated carrot.
• Grated jicama.
• Pickled pig skin.
• Japanese peanuts.
• Hot peanuts.
• Salted peanuts.
• Spicy roasted chickpeas (garbanzo beans).
• Chamoy.
• Hot sauce.
• Lemon.
• Salt.

It would be great if you prepare your own Dorilocos and share some photos or videos telling us what does it taste like. We're pretty sure you'll like it!

En la fiesta de bienvenida de Mr. Apple preparamos y compartimos una botana muy popular en México, DoriLocos. Son muy sabrosos y fáciles de preparar.

Sólo necesitan una bolsa de sus Doritos favoritos y algunos de los siguentes ingredientes, ¡O todos juntos!:
