Namenekovegi and Sushitenmaru Have Holiday Fun in the USA

Namenekovegi and Sushitenmaru met Tezca!

Namenekovegi and Sushitenmaru arrived in the US just before our winter vacation was set to take place. It's a good thing, too; they had time to join us for our annual Holiday Party, which included fun games and great food. We played a game called Doubles, in which students took turns rolling two dice. When someone got the same number on each die, they had to quickly grab a mascot and put on a scarf and gloves and then go to work unwrapping a present - a challenge while wearing gloves! The student who got through the final layer of wrapping paper and had his or her hand on the gift inside the box won the gift. It was loud and frantic and lots and lots of fun!

Christmastime in Michigan

Namenekovegi and Sushitenmaru then spent vacation time (2 1/2 weeks) with Ms. Wilson celebrating Christmas and New Year's Eve and trying to stay warm... Did you hear about the Polar Vortex that descended upon us, plummeting temperatures to -40F? It was very, very, VERY cold! Brrrrrr! As I type, temperatures have risen to a more reasonable 43F and it feels positively tropical outside.

We hope to take our new friends skiing, snowmobiling, and tubing in the coming weeks. Check back for photos of these adventures.

Chamallow & Tagada en México

El pasado 13 de Diciembre, una semana antes de nuestras vacaciones, llegó a la ciudad de México Chamallow acompañado de el osito Tagada. Llegaron justo a tiempo para su primer paseo, así que en cuanto pisaron la ciudad tuvieron que salir corriendo con nuestra amiga Valeria al aeropuerto, ya que su primer salida fue hacia las bahías de Huatulco, en el estado de Oaxaca.

Regresaron a la ciudad de México el 19 de Diciembre, con una agenda aún muy apretada, para tomar caminos diferentes ese mismo día e irse inmediatamente a pasar las fiestas (Navidad, Año Nuevo y Día de Reyes), en diferentes estados del país. Chamallow se fue de vacaciones a Michoacán, con Jorge. Tagada celebró las fiestas en las playas de Acapulco, en Guerrero, con Vanessa y Mónica.

On December 13th, one week before holidays, Chamallow and the little bear Tagada arrived in Mexico City. They were just in time for their first tour, so immediately after the arrival they went to the airport with our friend Valeria, they visited Huatulco bays in the state of Oaxaca.

They came back to Mexico City on December 19th, with a tight schedule, that day they went different ways to spend the holidays (Christmas, New Year and Three Kings Day). Chamallow spent the vacation with Jorge in the state of Michoacan. Tagada celebrated with Mónica and Vanessa in Acapulco Bay, in the state of Guerrero.

Have a good trip Nameneko Vegi and Sushitenmaru!

Ten days ago we said Good bye to Nameneko Vegi and Sushitenmaru.

Before that they visited several houses and helped children to deck the halls! They saw many Cristmas trees and Nativity scenes.

On their last day in Mexico City we had a Farewell party. Children prepared sushi, our guests favorite food. We hope they liked.

We really enjoyed and had lots of fun with Sushitenmaru and Nameneko Vegi. We will miss them.

We all loved Nameko. / A todos nos encantó Nameko

Hace diez días nos despedimos de Nameneko Vegi y Sushitenmaru.

Antes de eso visitaron varias casas y ayudaron a los niños con sus decoraciones navideñas. Pudieron ver muchos árboles de Navidad y Nacimientos.

En su último día en Ciudad de México hicimos una Fiesta de Despedida donde los chicos prepararon sushi, la comida favorita de nuestros invitados. Esperamos que les haya gustado.

Disfrutamos muchísimo y pasamos muchos momentos divertidos con Sushitenmaru y Nameneko Vegi. Los vamos a extrañar.
